Job Purpose
The Corporate Driver will provide safe, reliable and professional transportation services for company executives, staff, clients and goods. The role involves ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off, proper vehicle care, adherence to traffic laws and upholding confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
● Safely drive company executives, staff, clients and goods to designated destinations within Nairobi and upcountry when required.
● Plan routes in advance, considering traffic, weather and alternative options to ensure timely arrivals.
● Maintain assigned vehicle(s) in excellent condition through regular checks, fueling, cleaning and scheduling of service/repairs.
● Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company transport policies.
● Accurately maintain vehicle logbooks, trip records, and fuel usage reports.
● Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to identify potential mechanical or safety issues.
● Assist executives and visitors with loading/unloading luggage and providing courteous support during travel.
● Safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of passengers, conversations and company information.
● Respond to emergency situations appropriately, including handling minor repairs or coordinating assistance in case of breakdowns.
● Perform any other duties as assigned to support administrative and logistical functions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Degree or Diploma in any field
Driver’s License:
● Valid and up-to-date Kenyan driving license (Class BCE or higher depending on vehicle type).
Experience:
● At least 3–5 years’ proven driving experience in a corporate, government, or NGO environment.
Certifications:
● Defensive Driving certification from a recognized institution (preferred).
● Basic First Aid certification is an added advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies
● Excellent knowledge of Nairobi routes, Thika Road, and major highways; familiar with GPS and mapping applications.
● Strong understanding of traffic laws, road safety, and preventive vehicle maintenance.
● Professional appearance and client-oriented demeanor.
● Punctual, reliable, and highly organized with strong time management skills.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality when transporting executives, directors, clients and goods.
● Effective communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
● High level of integrity, courtesy and customer service orientation.
Other Requirements
● Clean driving record (free from major accidents/traffic violations in the last 3 years).
● Current and valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
● Physically fit and mentally alert.
● Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, or public holidays when required.
● Basic mechanical knowledge for minor repairs or troubleshooting.
